I would like to add my name to the list of objectors at the treatment of Bradley Manning.

HE is a young man who is idealistic, ethical and moral – he did what he is alleged to have done in the
name of decency, honesty and democracy.

Our governments have failed us at every level.
This seems like another Guantanimo Bay scenario -
torture and deprivation of human rights.

I am from Sydney, Australia and my feelings run deeply for this young man.

I have American friends who are ashamed of the treatment condoned by their government.
I too am ashamed of my own government who are embarrassed by the information being leaked.
They too are accountable for this treatment……….by their silence.

Why is he the wiki leaks whistleblower? He was really releasing these to the American public and using not only wikileaks but NYTimes etc to do so. Why not be honest and call him the Wikileaks/Nytimes/everyone who shared these docs with another person whistleblower?

Or is this web site in the biz of protecting major media?

Way to go everyone…good luck with the rally.
We are in Canada but our hearts are definately with you all and as always with Bradley Manning. I think postering the old fashioned way and handing out flyers with the date on them at schools and universities really helps. Facebook and twitter are great but can be over relyed upon..from my recent experiences with out own g20 policing public inquirey protests.
There are probably many people who are passionate and would surely attend but they are often left out of loop because they dont use social media.

this man is true hero.
his heart is in the right place and i bow my head for his courage.
it takes real courage, to take a step like he did.
war crimes are crimes, nothing less and would the internet have been arround at times of all the other wars, there would have been leaks after leaks to show waht was really going on.
german tv news magazin released a new video a few days ago:

here they found a new eye witness, a ground soldier who was ordered to the scene.
the video is mainly in german, but has parts of the interview in english.
have a look.
and keep the protest running high!!!!

Coming from a legal background (Australia) I have to admit that I find Bradley being kept in solitary and tried behind closed doors (military proceedings), disturbing. I think the public should demand that he have a fair trial and a public trial. I am probably showing an idealistic faith in the legal system here but if Bradley Manning is tried in public then the government has to produce evidence that what he did was illegal and convince a jury that what he did was not for the good of the public.
I admit that I am not familiar with American legal proceedings relating to espionage but surely the credibility of the legal system is at stake here too. As an American citizen, as well as a military man, is Bradley Manning entitled to go beyond whatever justice the military gives him and access the wider American legal system under the American Constitution?
I think Bradley deserves a fair trial and I hope enough people demand a fair trial that the government takes notice.

When you knew that soldiers were torturing people, shooting unarmed civilians etc, you realised your conscience would not allow you to remain silent. You have bravely made a stand for freedom of information and for human rights and have risked your own freedom in doing so. It is indeed courageous and you are not alone. Hopefully your supporters, who are growing in number, will give you comfort and will hound the powers that be to work towards your freedom. A full transparent sharing of information is also important for our historical records. The record needs to be as complete as possible to prevent the historical revisionists from manipulating the truth to further their own agendas.
