I'm from France, and gave immediate support to Bradley Manning.

By the way, this young man will turn 23 on december 17th ...

Should we use that for a special event or communication, to bring more attention around Brad's case ?

How can we show our solidarity with him, I mean a way he could know, and feel more confident to face US institutions ?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions !

JC

Please correct me if I am in error by suggesting that the following is difficult to successfully dispute.

1. Bradley Manning and Julian Assange will be known long after all their highly titled and common detractors are forgotten.

2. Bradley Manning and Julian Assange will be more respected and more appreciated BY THINKING PEOPLE, and by the common people of any degree of "thinking", than any of the current world national and world leaders, as time goes by.

3. The reasoning for the above is Brad and Julian's courageous efforts to more openly expose, FOR THE COMMON PEOPLE, the otherwise known and suspected, ignorance, maliciousness, pettiness and perfidy of highly titled and highly self-flattering government personnel, a common desire of the vast majority of common people throughout history, including Brad's and Julian's current detractors who incessantly accuse "the OTHER government officials" of those characteristics.

4. Bradley and Julian most illuminated, without a close second, the historic ability of the internet to destroy government secrecy, and thus destroy government corruption, maliciousness and government attempts to keep the common people ignorant.

5. The progressively more internet-educated son's, daughters and grandchildren of all of Brad's and Julian's detractors will progressively appreciate Brad and Julian more and more, and progressively recognize the repugnance of their parents and grandparents who tried to keep them ignorant and fooled about the rampant self-serving government corruption, of every government.

6. Now consider the minds of said detractors who might stumble across this comment (which you can link or copy and email), and who encounter a twinge of recognition of statement number 5 above, much to your amusement.

One cannot fool all the people all of the time, by design of the human phenomenon. To the extent that government sorts attempt to keep their own children and grandchildren ignorant of anything, they will be that ignorant until they discover the repugnance of their parents and grandparents, while more thinking people, therefore learning more knowledge, advance the human phenomenon beyond them, leaving the offspring of government folks as losers in the inherent human competition for more knowledge.

It is an aside to note that the future will produce reasoning-based governments, by design of the human mind, and by the increasing efforts of courageous people like Brad and Julian, replacing power-based governments, much to the confusion and rage of the remnant power-damaged human minds who cannot understand a use of the human mind greater than wars.

Thank you Brad and Julian.

Respectfully, DougBuchanan.com

Zero

Here's an article on the subject:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11882092

Here's a short list of the damage to careers and embarrassment of politicians done by Wikileaks.

1. Hillary Clinton is shown to be a corrupt and deceitful politician. No surprises there.

2. Arab dictators don't like democratic Iran. No surprises there.

3. We have psychopaths killing (the word "serving" is inappropriate because they do not serve any legitimate purpose for our society) in the US military.

4. The US federal bureaucracy spends a tremendous amount of stolen money chasing phantoms and make believe playing cops and robbers.

Lots more, these are just off the top of my head.

Here's a rough count of all the people who have died either directly or indirectly from US military actions in the last 60 years:

8 to 10 million is my guess.

Here's a rough cost to American society:

At least $20 trillion.

What is it that we give up for military? Your children's college? Medical treatment you need? A few less years of retirement? A few less years of life? Early death from preventable disease? Is it all worth it, I mean making the world safe for Israel and the American military bureaucracy?

Troll posts attached to a support thread can not be isolated and moved separately to the Rant section due to the limitations of the forum script, therefore must be deleted. Deletions will begin today, August 10, 2010.
...

...would not be true with SMF. There, individual posts can be separated from an existing thread and put into a new thread.

This is just one of the features that SMF has that phpBB doesn't.

Is it treason to give your government what they asked for, if another branch of said government thought he shouldn't?
Don't traitors usually get some kind of gain from betraying their own country? Where is Manning's 9 pieces of silver? A person engaged in subjective traitorous acts, with no gain for themselves, are historically few and far between. 90% of these few and far between people are considered patriots, at least from an American perspective.

I'll check back in a couple of weeks. This is a throwaway account.
