Exposing war crimes is a duty, not a crime!

11/30/2012
1:00 am - 1:30 am
U.S. Embassy in Rome, Rome

U.S. Citizens for Peace & Justice - Rome will be holding a flash-mob photo-op this Friday (Nov. 30) outside the U.S. Embassy in Rome, Italy, to say: "We are Bradley Manning!  Exposing war crimes is a duty, not a crime!" It's a work day so there will be just a handful of us.  But all our members have endorsed the action because all are convinced that Bradley is a hero, not a criminal. Convicting Bradley would send the wrong signal to everyone working in places of power, i.e. “Close an eye to any wrongdoing you see.”  Instead, freeing Bradley will send the signal: "We are all responsible for keeping our democracy free of corruption and wrongdoing, by denouncing immediately any occurrences of these things."  And THAT is the signal this trial should be sending.

And THAT is the signal this trial should be sending.

Hi, a few hours ago I sent you a photo of our flash-mob photo-op in front of the U.S. embassy in Rome, Italy. I sent you the wrong photo by mistake: it has only 7 of the 8 Americans in Rome who showed up. Could you disregard that photo and, instead, use the one attached to this form?  It has all 8 members of U.S. Citizens for Peace & Justice - Rome. Thanks! 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Montrose Peace Vigil, Montrose CA

We have met every Friday evening since 2006 to oppose war and promote peaceful resolution of conflicts.   We agree that "Responsible governance requires fully informed citizens who can question their leadership,"  and do not believe whistleblowers who have exposed important facts about our foreign policies, as Bradley Manning has done, should be punished with excess harshness.
