If this were the first time a soldier had concerns about the war, I’d be very surprised. I bet there are plenty of official reports, locked away of course, that detail every official account. The problem with using official channels is that THEY DON’T WORK. If they did, we would see a whole lot more videos like this, albeit edited to hell, but we don’t. Why is that? Well, because congress is a bunch of people in one room, all on the same team, but they seem to wear different colors. Despite this, they all have the same goal. They want to continue on course with our „good christian“ ideals and consumption of goods. They don’t want the war to stop(there needs to be a bad guy) because then everyone would focus on what a horrible job they are doing. On the other hand, they don’t want to scare their constituencies with videos of their horrible children murdering people in the middle east. So they take the footage, if it ever exists, and bury it. Like they say, out of sight, out of mind.
Going the other official route is worse. Our military brass are not good people. They train our soldiers to think and act like murderers, cogs in a death machine that are trained to look at all non-soldiers as insurgents and dead accidents. These are the people who Bradley was officially supposed to go to with his concerns. What if he had? Would we see a video, even an official one? Would the direction of the war change? Would we stop killing innocent people walking along the street in front of buildings about to be struck by missiles? Would children no longer be indiscriminately fired upon, and their deaths not blamed on their dead parents? No, Bradley would have been pulled off his job and set back at the beginning of his official brainwashing routine. He would have completed this routine, and if it didn’t stick, then they’d find some special training that would. Fortunately, for us, and the world, he didn’t go the official route. He went to the one place where he knew it would be shown and people could make their owns judgements. Hopefully Bradley doesn’t have to pay too much for the admission.

According to Lamo, Manning indeed tried to solve the problem in the system in the first time he found something wrong, but he got so desperate from the results that he believed the system does not work at all. In fact, if the system could really work well as you suggested, this bloody war would never exist.

Soldiers that come foreward with whistleblower information generally do so in the proper channels, ie the Inspector General’s office, or through their congress person. Unfortunately you generally need to do at least part of that in person, ie your name is on it.

Leaking secret information on the internet IS the cowards way out.
