We are looking for Washington DC area organizers to help rally support for Bradley Manning during events leading up to his court martial proceedings. Please volunteer to help free Bradley Manning!
On April 24th, Bradley Manning supporters will be rallying in front of the Department of Justice in Washington DC, and then on the 25th supporters will be making their way to the Ft. Meade main gates where there will be a vigil outside Bradley’s courtroom. We need help to both spread the word and to provide transportation for supporters between downtown D.C. and Ft. Meade. Your individual efforts as a D.C.-area organizer will make a crucial difference. Please share this announcement widely.
Nobel Peace Prize nominee, and accused WikiLeaks whistle-blower, PFC Bradley Manning will appear in court on April 24th for a three-day hearing at Ft. Meade. His abuse during 11 months of solitary confinement has been called cruel and inhuman by the UN special rapporteur on torture, Juan Mendez, and it will have been almost two years that he has been imprisoned without trial. The defense filed a motion last month to dismiss all charges based on the government’s inability to provide evidence. Demand that the government free PFC Bradley Manning!

Meade Maryland 175 & Reece Rd Fort Meade, MD 21113Join the all-day vigil for Bradley Manning at the Fort Mead Main Gate, 8am-5pm (Maryland 175& Reece Rd, Fort Meade, MD 21113). We will be holding signs and banners throughout the day. Supporters are welcome to attend the courtroom proceedings for all or part of the day. We are currently investigating chartering a bus that would leave from Washington D.C. Please let us know if this would help you get there! |
*** Supporters are also encouraged to attend Bradley Manning’s court martial motion hearing at Fort Meade on Tuesday, April 24. This hearing is scheduled for April 24-26, beginning at 9am daily. To attend, go to the Fort Meade Visitor Control Center at the Fort Meade Main Gate (Maryland 175 & Reece Rd, Fort Meade, MD 21113). We suggest arriving when the visitor center opens at 7:30am (if you arrive late, you should still be able to get into the courtroom later in the morning).
