Наприкінці травня 2010 рядовий першого класу Бредлі Меннінг, аналітик розвідки армії США в Багдаді, був арештований за підозрою у тому, що він передав відеометріал «Супутнє вбивство» до WikiLeaks.
6-го червня 2010, його звинуватили у порушенні Єдиного кодексу військових законів, включаючи 8 кримінальних злочинів та 4 некримінальних порушення правил Армії США. Повний список звинувачень див. тут bradleymanning.org/3163/charge-sheet-html.
Його арешт було здійснено на основі ствердження про те, що він зробив зізнання у інтернет-чаті відомому хакеру та журналісту Адріану Ламо.
Меннінг зараз перебуває під вартою в тюрмі Квантіко, штат Вірджінія та очікує на суд. Якщо Меннінга звинуватять, йому загрожує до 52 років ув’язнення, звільнення з армії з позбавленням прав, привілеїв та пільг та невизначені штрафи. Бредлі Меннінг не робив офіціальних публічних заяв з моменту свого арешту. Деніел Елсберг, відомий автор «Секретів Пентагона», назвав рядового Бредлі Меннінга героєм.

4-го квітня 2010 року вебсайт викриттів WikiLeaks оприлюднив секретне відео, в якому гелікоптер Apache збройних сил США розстрілює цивільних людей в Новому Багдаді в 2007 році. Цей відео-ролік, доступний на www.collateralmurder.com, зображує американців, що стрілять та вбивають 11 людей, які не відповідають на відкритий проти них вогонь. Двоє із вбитих були працівниками Reuters, включаючи 22-річного фотокореспондента Наміра Ноор-Ельдена (Namir Noor-Eldeen) та його водія, 40-річного Саїда Чмага (Saeed Chmagh).
Це відео також має аудіозапис внутрішніх коментарів американських солдат до, під час, а також після стрільби. Солдати неодноразово запитують та отримують дозвіл відкрити вогонь, підбадьорюють один одного та жартують щодо вбитих та поранених цивільних. Усього було вбито 11 дорослих. Двоє дітей та пасажири автобуса, що прибув на місце дій після закінчення першої атаки, були серйозно поранені, коли гелікоптер відкрив вогонь по їхньому автобусу.
У 2007 році Reuters закликало до проведення розслідування цієї атаки. У відповідь на це речник міжнародних сил в Багдаді заявив: “Немає сумнівів, що сили коаліції були задіяні у операції, спрямованій суто проти ворожої сили.”

Розслідування смерті дев’яти інших осіб не було.
Проти американських солдатів, що знаходилися у гелікоптері Apache та розстріляли цивільних на цьому відео, не було висунуто жодних звинувачень.

war crimes are crimes, nothing less and would the internet have been arround at times of all the other wars, there would have been leaks after leaks to show waht was really going on.
