Bradley Manning support in Wales

Veteran Ben Griffin reviews ‘The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning.’ Griffin, of Veterans for Peace UK, saw the play at Tasker Millwood School, Haverford West, Wales, where Bradley went to school as a teenager. On how the play can enhance awareness of Bradley Manning’s case, Griffin says,

“There is a general awareness in the area that [Bradley] went to school here and that he is facing serious charges in the US but this is yet to form into a wider campaign of solidarity. It is my hope that this play will help to humanize [Bradley] and spur people into action.”

Ron Paul says he’d have protected Bradley Manning if he were president. Applauding Bradley and comparing him to Daniel Ellsberg, Paul says both have provided invaluable resources in understanding how America goes to war.

Members of the Pirate Party across Europe support Bradley Manning. Echoing the Icelandic Parliament’s letter recommending Bradley for the Nobel Peace Prize, members of the Pirate Party come out in support of Bradley, especially now when whistleblowers are “under siege across our world.”

The letter comes as Pirate Party founder announces his support at the I Am Bradley Manning photo blog:

My name is Rick Falkvinge, and I am the founder of the Swedish and first Pirate Party, which has representation in the European parliament and has spawned Pirate Parties in more than 50 other countries. It’s not just the right, but the duty of every citizen to call on their government when it is breaking fundamental civil liberties, the constitution and the law. That’s not a right, it’s a duty. If Bradley Manning did what he’s accused of, then, every step of the way, he did the right thing.

The letter includes Pirate Party representatives from the Netherlands, Slovenia, Germany, Belgium, Serbia, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the Ukraine. (Read more…)
