Join us to show our support of Bradley Manning in the DC Pride Parade. Manning, a member of the LGBTQ community and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, reached national attention in 2010 when he supplied WikiLeaks with classified military documents including the Collateral Murder video, which shows the killing of unarmed civilians and two Reuters journalists by a U.S. Apache helicopter crew in Iraq, as well as the Afghan War Diaries and the Iraq War Logs, and a series of U.S. diplomatic cables. The documents and videos he released to Wikileaks has illuminated the true number and cause of civilian casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan; human rights abuses by the United States, U.S. contractors and foreign militaries; and the role that spying and bribes play in international diplomacy. He now stands trial and is facing life in prison for blowing the whistle on U.S. war crimes. As a member of our community we need to stand up for Bradley and be visible during Pride. Together let’s show the LGBTQ community that Bradley Manning is our queer hero. (For more information on Bradley Manning’s case, go to BradleyManning.org.)
