Join Amnesty’s Take Action Campaign for Bradley Manning

Stepping up its efforts after news broke last week of even harsher imprisonment conditions imposed on US Army prisoner Bradley Manning, Amnesty International USA has instituted a Take Action messaging campaign on Manning’s behalf. Messages sent via takeaction.amnestyusa.org will be sent to President Barack Obama and Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates.

Amnesty International USA sent a letter Secretary Gates on January 24, 2011, calling for the restrictions on Manning to be reviewed after the soldier suffered several days of increased restrictions based on what MCB Quantico officials called his “suicide risk.” Amnesty states that Manning’s latest restrictions, which involve Manning being stripped naked at night, appear to violate the human rights obligations of the United States.

Join the movement to end the punitive detention of Bradley Manning. Visit takeaction.amnestyusa.org to send a message now to the President and the Secretary that you will not allow these human rights violations to continue in your name.

  1. It is very upsetting to see how the US cruelly treats prisoners. They will never be a shining example to the rest of the world and are every bit as bad as dictators around the world

  2. The crimes of the US government knows no bounds and like Ghadafi they will forfeit their own to achieve their misplaced goals

  3. It’s no wonder that America is detested when they proclaim freedom and treat human beings like this. Stop the torture now.

  4. The U.S. government’s abuse of Bradley Manning is a shameful assault on decency and the rule of law. Secretary Gates and President Obama will be held to account for these immoral acts by people of conscience.

  5. Please, end the punitive detention of Bradley Manning, he did what he did just because he wants peace and respect for all the people in the world.
If you aree a democratic goverment you should be grateful with him for helping America to discover the truth.
YOU DON’T ARREST AND TORTURE SOMEBODY BECAUSE HE TELLS THE TRUTH!!!!

  8. dear Brother Manning,
From Machupicchu, Land of the Inkas ( children of the Sun) in Peru.
Iam well aware of what you have done for humankind in this last episode of its history. We are about to witness great changes all over the world and the Universe for Judgement day is at the door… everything will be revealed…book of revelations…and you will suffer persecutions and some of you will be jailed due to your testimony…a testimony against the Beast (USA government and its allies…/7 heads).
The lamb is on the Earth, Jesus the Christ, the Alpha and Omega is to judge the creators of this strange life system based on gold, crime, assassination, greed, misinformation, torture and all of the last legion of satan (capitalism).
Be firm and patient, everything is being recorded in the atmosphere, elements and your personal aurea. God is everywhere

  10. The United States screams on and on about the importance of transparency, condemning torture, civil liberties, and the like. But when one of their own exposes the hypocrisy, corruption and lies that are rife in the US Government they are far more opaque about their true values. They should build a statue of this man and stand outside Congress as a reminder that the world is watching and the truth will out. SHAME on the United States.

  11. Bradley Manning is in my point of view a political prisoner. And there should not be political prisoners in countries, who call themselves the home of the free and the brave.

  12. The US’s arrogance and hypocrisy knows no bounds. This case should be publicised as much as possible to expose the fascism at the heart of American imperialism.

  13. Dear Bradley, I know you can’t read this, but if you could you might be blown away by all the people whose lives you have touched and moved to action. I salute you and feel great anguish that you have been persecuted so unfairly by an inhumane government whose lies and hypocrisy know no bounds. I can only hope that by some miracle you’re released and allowed to live a normal life, far from this hell you inhabit. There is an army behind you!
